Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
How retainers, reschedules, weather, and late arrivals are handled.
DRAFT — this text is a starting point only and must be reviewed by a qualified attorney before launch. It is not legal advice.
Retainer
A 40% nonrefundable retainer is required to reserve your date and is applied to your session total. Your date is not held until both the signed agreement and the retainer are complete.
Client cancellation
- Cancellations forfeit the retainer.
- Cancellations more than 48 hours before the session release any balance already paid.
- Cancellations inside 48 hours may be charged the full session total.
Rescheduling
- One reschedule is permitted with at least 48 hours' notice, subject to availability.
- Outdoor sessions include one weather reschedule at no charge.
- Retainers transfer to the rescheduled date within 90 days.
Weather
Light overcast is excellent for portraits and sessions proceed. Rain, storms, extreme heat, or unsafe conditions trigger a reschedule offer as early as possible.
Late arrival
There is a 15-minute grace period. Sessions end at the scheduled time, so late arrival reduces available shooting time and the image count may be affected.
Photographer cancellation
If the session cannot be photographed for a reason on the photographer's side, you may reschedule or receive a full refund including the retainer.
